Converting Image Files
In most cases, converting file formats is automatic. Simply open your
source file and save it with the appropriate file extension.
The obvious exception to the above is saving a single frame from an
animation or movie in which case you must choose an image format. Other
exceptions are files that require special write codecs; these can be
read but must be saved to a supported write format.
Some of the supported formats are listed below.
